Who We Are
We’re a small, home-based tuition in Punggol, founded by top IP school alumni and NUS (Honours) graduates with over 6 years of teaching experience.
In school, we were “muggers” — the kind who studied till 3am and chased top grades. We understand the pressure because we’ve lived it. And along the way, we discovered something important: you don’t need to suffer to succeed.
That’s why we built Muggers’ Kampung — a cosy, supportive space where students learn smarter, not harder. A safe kampung for learning and growth.
How We Got Here
We started out doing 1-to-1 home tuition during our university years. It worked — students improved, parents were happy — but it wasn't scalable. It was too time-consuming, and we couldn’t reach the wider community of students who needed us.
We also tried teaching at commercial tuition centres. But truthfully?
They felt just like another class in school:
Rigid — fixed lesson plans, no room to slow down or speed up
Disconnected — little understanding of each student’s pace, struggles, or strengths
Large classes — too many students, too little attention
Not value-for-money — you’re paying premium rates, but getting cookie-cutter results
We knew there had to be a better way — and that’s exactly why we started Muggers’ Kampung.

With a maximum of 5 students per class, our tutors can personalise every lesson to match individual learning styles and pace. Led by young, relatable ex-Hwa Chong, NUS Honours graduates, we simplify complex concepts using visual, interactive methods that actually stick.
